I follwed today's propt and write a tall tale...
Nine Lives
All nine of its lives hidden
In the vallies and thickets
Of its shadow dark fur.
Claws like pine needles
Scratching through history
Like furniture to sharpen on.
That cat wrangled cattle
In it's prime, took the long-
Horn for a ride around Everest.
When boredom set in, that cat
Drank the elixir of airplanes
And automobiles, slept in vans
Curled itself in on the passenger
Side of wisdom, no luggage was
Good luggage in the order of lives.
Or baggage for that matter and so
That cat ate from the same table
As humans, plucked shashimi
With a fork and chopsticks and
When it was time to sleep,
That can just tried on another
Life. As if each life was like a jacket
Or a pair of pants, once it got too
Scattered with holes, that cat
Slipped on a new life, walked the walk,
Stood on it haunches and spoke
About the past as if it were future tense.
