Day 11 - Napowrimo - Villanelle

I followed the day 11 prompt from napowrimo.net and wrote a villanelle. This took some time, and I don't believe it's great, but there are some lines in here that I would like to use in a different poem, may be a Pantoum instead.

Villanelle

I want to bring you close,

dispel the memory of gray carpet

where everything is worry or rage.

I remember the tears you spilled

pooled into a mirror. I am your mirror.

Let me bring you close.

When you held me in your arms,

I did not know fear,

now I want to bring you close.

I remember your sadness as a papercut

cupped on your tongue

where everything is worry or rage.

I remember when your voice

was the sharpest point in the room,

now I want to bring you close

safe from your worry and rage.
